Frequently Asked Questions

A Prosthetic TES Belt is a specialized belt designed to provide additional support and stability for individuals using a prosthetic limb. It helps secure the prosthesis and maintains proper alignment during movement.

• Begin by fitting the belt from the distal end, pulling it over the prosthetic foot. • Slide the belt up onto the prosthetic socket. • Check the positioning to ensure a secure and comfortable fit, making adjustments as necessary.

The belt should be snug but not too tight. It should be comfortable enough to wear throughout the day without causing pressure points or restricting circulation. If the belt is too tight, adjust the closures to reduce tension.

If the belt feels too tight or causes discomfort, immediately loosen the hook and loop closures. The fit should be adjusted to provide support without feeling constrictive.

If the TES belt is too tight or worn for long periods without adjustment, it can cause skin irritation. Regularly check for signs of discomfort, redness, or pressure sores. If irritation occurs, adjust the fit or consult your prosthetist.

The belt should sit comfortably above the hip, providing secure support without slipping or feeling loose. Ensure that the side band is not twisted, and check for any pressure points that could lead to discomfort.

It's important to check the TES belt’s fit throughout the day, especially after prolonged sitting or movement. Make adjustments to ensure it remains comfortable and provides support as needed.

Yes, the TES belt is designed for daily use and can be worn during physical activities such as walking, standing, or light exercise. However, ensure the belt is tightly secured and remains comfortable during more strenuous activities.

The TES belt should be cleaned according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Typically, hand washing with mild detergent and air drying is recommended to preserve the material's integrity. Avoid using harsh chemicals or machine drying.

If you notice any damage such as tears or worn areas, discontinue use and contact your prosthetist or the manufacturer for a replacement or repair. Regularly inspect the belt for signs of wear and tear.

Yes, the TES belt is designed to be adjustable to accommodate different body sizes and prosthetic configurations. Adjust the hook and loop closures to ensure a secure and comfortable fit.

Consult with your prosthetist to determine if the TES belt is suitable for your specific prosthetic system and body type. They can help ensure that it fits correctly and provides the support you need.

While the TES belt can be worn overnight if necessary, it’s generally recommended to remove it when sleeping to avoid prolonged pressure on the skin. Always consult your prosthetist for specific recommendations regarding overnight use.

The TES belt is compatible with most standard prosthetic sockets. However, some specialized sockets may require adjustments or different fitting techniques. Your prosthetist can help ensure compatibility with your particular setup.

Ensure that the belt is properly fitted and adjusted. Tighten the hook and loop closures securely, but not so tight that they cause discomfort. If necessary, periodically check the fit during the day to ensure the belt remains in place.

TES belt is not designed to be fully waterproof. While they can handle some moisture, it’s important to avoid submerging the belt in water. If you expect to be in wet conditions, consult the manufacturer for guidance on water resistance.

Yes, the TES belt is designed for easy adjustment while wearing. You can tighten or loosen the hook and loop closures to achieve the desired fit and comfort throughout the day.

If the TES belt shows signs of wear, such as fraying, loss of elasticity, or the hook and loop closures no longer sticking properly, it may be time to replace it. Regularly inspect the belt to ensure it is still providing adequate support.

If you experience discomfort or pressure points while wearing the TES belt, remove it and adjust the fit. If discomfort persists, consult with your prosthetist to ensure proper fit and consider possible adjustments to your prosthetic setup.
